PErsonalized PostPartum support
Every family’s postpartum experience is unique. Whether you’re welcoming your first baby, recovering after a cesarean birth, adjusting to twins, navigating breastfeeding, or seeking overnight newborn care, support is tailored to your family’s individual goals. Moon Goddess Mama provides calm, professional, evidence-informed care that allows parents to rest, recover, and build confidence during the earliest weeks with their baby.
Welcome! I am so glad you are here. My name is Bethany Wellington and I am a postpartum doula — a non-clinical support professional trained to care for families during the tender days, weeks, and months after birth or the addition of a new baby. This season is sacred, vulnerable, and deeply transformative, and my role is to walk alongside you with steady, compassionate support as you find your rhythm as a family.
The word doula comes from the Greek term meaning “a woman who serves,” and I hold that meaning close to my heart. My work is rooted in nurturing — caring for you so that you can care for your baby.
Research shows that thoughtful postpartum support can ease the transition into life with a newborn, improve overall postnatal well-being, reduce the risk of mood disorders, and help protect against sleep deprivation. Beyond the research, I see every day how powerful it is when parents feel truly supported, seen, and cared for.
I support families with evidence-based newborn care, gentle infant soothing techniques, and sleep support, while honoring your individual feeding goals — whether that includes breastfeeding, formula feeding, or a combination of both. My approach is always personalized, respectful, and centered on what feels right for your family.
My care often extends beyond the baby. I can help with light household support such as grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, and simple daily tasks — small things that make a big difference when you’re recovering, resting, and bonding.
In addition to hands-on care, I’m happy to connect you with trusted local resources, including lactation consultants, birth doulas, postnatal yoga teachers, massage and craniosacral therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, chiropractors, herbalists, family support groups, nanny agencies, home cleaning services, and more. You don’t have to navigate this season alone — I’m here to help you feel supported, informed, and held.
Infant care
Infants need plenty of care and require productivity at all hours of day and night. Assistance with expert insights, diaper changes, breastfeeding support, bottle support, bathing, colic, sleeping, and whatever additional need may present itself, provides families with time for postpartum healing, opportunities for sleep, and additional help with basic household chores.
Siblings
An addition to the family is a shift in responsibility roles for everyone. It is important to strive to support the siblings with the transition to reduce anxiety for themselves and other family members. There are key practices that can be used to help the sibling learn to respond positively. From verbal to non verbal interactions, it is imperative that the siblings feel involved. With specific language, a child can feel empowered by this new caregiving role. With the division of time and energy, it is also important for the child to still be nurtured in their necessary ways. Additional support can help provide this.
Post Partum Stress
Postpartum Stress disorder is a common and serious illness. The CDC states that 1 in 10 women in the United States experiences symptoms. It has been scientifically recognized to be greatly reduced when doula support is available. Knowing how to respond to and support both men and women in this delicate state is vital to the ease of its reality.
Whether the support be a presence of peace and knowing, providing evidence-based procedures, or simply providing compassion in recognizing the symptoms, a doula is a valuable resource to comforting and alleviating the stress an infant and adjusting, healing body presents.
