As of September 15, 2026, Moon Goddess Mama daytime postpartum care is $300 for a four-hour visit. A complete 10-hour overnight is $650 Monday through Friday and $750 Saturday or Sunday. Extended, travel, holiday, awake-care and multiples arrangements may require customized pricing.
Postpartum doula rates in Philadelphia vary according to the provider’s experience, credentials, schedule, number of babies, travel requirements and the level of continuity being reserved. A transparent proposal should explain not only the hourly value but the exact schedule, duties, payment timing and conditions that hold the dates.
CURRENT MOON GODDESS MAMA RATES
• Daytime support: $300 per four-hour visit
• Weekday overnight support: $650 per 10-hour night
• Weekend overnight support: $750 per 10-hour night
• Postpartum planning: $150 for a 60-minute virtual session
• In-home postpartum planning: $250 for a private 90-minute session, subject to location and availability
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A 10-HOUR OVERNIGHT
An overnight may include newborn care between feeds, nursing support within scope, bottle feeding according to the family’s plan, burping, diapering, soothing, resettling, bottle and pump-part care, safe-sleep support, a calm nighttime environment, detailed care notes and protection of parental rest and recovery.
HOW RESERVED CONTINUITY CARE WORKS
Families planning ongoing support around an estimated due date reserve the birth month with a retainer equal to 80 hours of care. At the current weekday overnight rate, 80 hours equals $5,200. The retainer is applied toward care provided during the baby’s birth month. Weekend hours use the weekend rate.
Dates are officially reserved after the introductory consultation, approval of the proposed care plan, signature of the service agreement and receipt of the required retainer. After the reserved hours are used, continued care may be paid according to the schedule and terms in the agreement.
WHY SOME ARRANGEMENTS COST MORE
Customized pricing may apply when the work requires holidays, travel, twins or multiples, awake overnight care, live-in arrangements, 24-hour coordination, additional children, extended household responsibilities or significant schedule flexibility. Continuous fully awake care around the clock requires another qualified professional so coverage remains safe and sustainable.
INSURANCE AND EMPLOYER BENEFITS
Moon Goddess Mama does not bill health insurance directly and cannot guarantee reimbursement. Upon request, families may receive an itemized invoice, receipt, service agreement and available professional documentation to submit independently to an insurer, health account or employer-sponsored family benefit. Families should confirm eligibility directly before reserving care.
HOW TO COMPARE PROPOSALS
Compare the provider’s exact credential, years of relevant experience, minimum shift length, cancellation terms, insurance, CPR status, background clearances, scope, number of families accepted at once and what happens if a birth date or recovery plan changes. The lowest hourly number may not represent the same level of continuity, availability or responsibility.
